Queer Cacophonies

Museum goers were each given a line of a poem to read to form a chorus as an invitation to move from an individual to a collective experience of voice. These compositions engage aurally, the visual cacophony of queer gesture activated in Haring's paintings.

Commissioned by the de Young Museum for "Keith Haring: The Political Line" exhibition, the first American exhibition to assess the political dimension and scope of Keith Haring’s artistic concerns.
